Nancy Vanderboom Lausch 

Illustration and  Graphic Design

Nancy Vanderboom Lausch, PhD, is Professor Emerita of Art Education at the College for Creative Studies, where she spent a career shaping teacher preparation, curriculum innovation, and community-based arts programming. Known for integrating studio practice with research-based pedagogy, she has led coursework and programs that prepare educators to bring creative, culturally responsive learning to diverse K–12 and community settings.

Her scholarship and professional work focus on illustration, graphic design, curriculum development, assessment in the arts, and the role of the visual arts in fostering critical thinking and social-emotional learning. Nancy has presented widely at conferences and collaborated with schools, museums, and arts organizations to translate research into practice and expand opportunities for students and teachers. She began her career in the corporate world at Herman Miller, Inc as an illustrator and graphic designer, which influenced her career in higher education.

Now retired from full-time teaching, she has returned to studio practice doing illustration and painting.
